Ayurvedic Treatment Of Hyperthermia
Well, we all are well aware that our normal body temperature is 98.6 °F -100 °F. When the body temperature rises above this normal range of temperature, then there exists a problem of hyperthermia. Yes, it is a condition where body temperature may rise over 105 °F. Sometimes, the condition requires medical emergency also, and it occurs when the body fails to regulate its internal temperature. This is a severe form of hyperthermia and is known as heat stroke. Older adults and people with mental problem or other health problem or people at home without air conditioning are at higher risk of the same. At the same time, young people may also develop this problem by staying in extreme temperature for a long time. The problem can be life threatening and it is better to control it with early diagnosis. Ayurveda is a great and the natural way for the same. We will discuss Ayurvedic concept and its solution, later.
What Actually Happens In Hyperthermia?
First of all, we should know, what actually happens in this disorder. This occurs when the body absorbs more amount of heat than it actually dissipates. More absorption of heat leads to high temperature that needs medical emergency. So be careful and take it seriously, if you experience high body temperature. One of the common signs of this health problem is Dry skin. Yes, dry skin is the result when the body fails to cool down through sweating. A person may also experience headaches, nausea and dizziness too. Before getting into serious medical condition, it is better to go for medical treatment.
We have already discussed the general cause of the same. It occurs due to high body temperature. At the same time, it may also occur due to serious reaction of some drugs to the body. We can say, it is the side effect of drugs.
People normally think that they are having fever only. But if the increased body temperature remains unchanged, then you can’t say it’s just a fever. It is hyperthermia. This is the major difference between this problem and fever. In hyperthermia, the body’s temperature set point remains unchanged, while in fever, set point changes.
Ayurvedic Concept Of Hyperthermia
Ayurveda is a safe and a natural healthcare system that involves the use of natural herbs in their herbal formulations for managing any health problem. Being the natural herbs, these lower the risk of any side effects. A great way to maintain the body healthy enough.
Ayurveda says, that there are three doshas of our body which are considered as the energies of the body. The doshas are Vata, Pitta and Kapha dosha. Aggravation of any of the doshas results in health problem.
In case of hyperthermia, it is the pitta dosha that gets aggravated. Healthy Pitta dosha (Body heat) maintains the body metabolism so that body can perform its normal functions. When there is aggravation of the pitta dosha, body temperature becomes very high. Increased pitta dosha leads to disruption of normal metabolism of the body. It disturbs the chemical balances in the body.
With the help of some herbs such as Amalaki, Giloy and many more, Ayurveda reduces the body heat and maintains the pitta dosha in balance.
